Copyright is a protection for people's intellectual property which means others must follow guidelines in order to use the property and those who have ownership have priviledges to use it how they please. Fair use is apart of the Copyright Act of 1976 that states that copyrighted material can be used for nonprofit and educational purposes. Since fair use has to be used within reason using a limited amount of the material, it is important to convey these ideas to students. Students should know that not everything on the internet is free to take from and that their own works can be protected through copyright. Having activities that ultilize citation and fair use could be beneficial for students as well as for me, as a teacher, modeling the respect they should show to intellectual property.

Academic dishonesty should be defined and preventions taught. Clearly defining expectations can help students from facing the negatives consequences of academic dishonesty. Cyberbulling is a major source of stress for students as being online is a significant part of being a youth. Having that experience be a negative one can be detrimental, so it is important to address that in the classroom. Having a day to talk about what is is and how to take action when it happens could make improvements in the lives of students. Hanging a poster in the classroom as a reminder will set that expectation for students everyday.

I would say the newsletter taught me how to use WordArt and shading, line changings, and thickness tools. It opened up all the uses that microsoft word really has. I could improve the newsletter by exploring WordArt more and making my designs more extensive. In the future I will make more elaborate creations using the tools revealed in this assignment.
